The slide show at right shows two-page spreads from the 2014 Annual Report which I created for the Johnson City Public Library.
While we create annual reports for our donors and fundraising efforts each year, the 2014 report is the culmination of a year-long campaign called “Geek the Library,” a national community awareness effort to educate the public about critical funding issues facing public libraries.
My blog readers might recall that I wrote about the photographs I took for the campaign (see Geek the Library). For the annual report, I chose images that befitted the report material developed by the library administration and, in some cases, Photoshopped faux backgrounds to embellish the booklet.
Using the excellent publishing features of Adobe InDesign, I built all the page layouts and prepared the document in the CMYK color space for commercial printing. In a few days, the library will receive a shipment from UPrinting.com with a thousand annual reports, ready for mailing in their next fundraising campaign.
